Josephine Nakayiza, the mother of the late entertainer David Sifayo, popularly known as Master Parrot, has described the emotional devastation she is experiencing following the death of her son in a fatal hit-and-run road accident.
Nakayiza, speaking at the family home, said the loss of her son has left a deep and lasting wound, recalling him as a hardworking and compassionate young man whose ambitions in Uganda’s entertainment industry were cut short just as he was beginning to gain momentum.
“My son worked tirelessly to build his career and make a better life for his family, but he has died before reaping the rewards of his talent. The pain is too much for me to bear,” she said.
She said Master Parrot remained optimistic about his future despite the many personal and professional challenges he faced, adding that he was a source of strength and companionship within the family.
“He was my strength, my friend, and my hope. I never imagined that I would bury my own child. His death has left a wound in my heart that may never heal,” Nakayiza said.
The grieving mother also expressed gratitude to friends, fellow artists, and members of the public who have supported the family since the tragedy, while appealing for justice and a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
Authorities are reportedly investigating the fatal hit-and-run incident in which Master Parrot was knocked down by a speeding vehicle.
Details surrounding the crash remain under police inquiry as the family awaits further updates on the case.
Master Parrot, who was known for his work in comedy, music, and his lively stage personality, had built a growing following within Uganda’s entertainment scene, where he was regarded as a promising talent whose career was still on the rise at the time of his death.
His sudden passing has left family, friends, and fans in mourning, with tributes continuing to highlight his energy, creativity, and determination in the entertainment industry.
